Chris Kirschenmann was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. His interest in art started with his love of anime and manga. He started art his art classes in high school and then received his Baccalaureate of Fine Arts from CSUB in 2013.

After graduation while showing his art in a gallery, was offered an apprenticeship by a local tattoo artist. Chris took this opportunity to exit the fine arts world and learn a new art form.

Chris tattooed in Bakersfield, CA for a few years, and a guest spot in Oklahoma shortly after they legalized tattooing.

 in 2017, Chris moved to the Fredericksburg, VA area to pursue new and better tattooing opportunities.

After working in a couple shops in Fredericksburg, he has found his spot at Black Horse Tattoo Studios.

Chris looks forward to bringing his detailed and colorful work to the people of Fredericksburg in this new, beautiful Studio.
